SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

OVERALL ROLE:

The individual hired for this position will design and implement efficient client and server software components. The individual must be able to transition from client to server side development with relative ease. The opportunity enables the individual to work closely with many teams on defining and implementing integration APIs that allow for flexible use cases. The individual will have responsibilities for all aspects of design with a strong emphasis on clean and reusable APIs. This individual will also work closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, and other development teams. Thus, a proven ability to work cross functionally is required.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:
• At least 10 years of experience in software development.
• BSCS or equivalent education.
• Expert in high-performance, high scalability java programming.
• Expert in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.
• Excellent at analyzing code and APIs.
• Good understanding of network protocols, especially TCP/IP.
• Good understanding of database design and SQL.
• Experience with mobile wireless technologies and network protocols
• Experience with C and C++ is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HTTP protocol.
• Experience using version control software (CVS, Subversion, Perforce, etc.).
• Experience with the following products and technologies: Linux, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Java.
• Excellent attention to detail and an appreciation for clean design.
• Very high technical competence, track record of strong technical accomplishments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
