Position Description

Bight Games is a developer of innovative and original mobile games for Java, BREW and iPhone.

Our games are distributed to mobile operators and subscribers around the world through agreements with aggregators and master publishers such as THQ Wireless and Sonic Boom, Inc.

Bight’s studio is a newly renovated warehouse near the waterfront in downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.


As a Game Designer, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of layout, concept and gameplay for Bight’s original IP’s and licensed properties.


You’ll actively participate in all stages of the game development life cycle in conjunction with the full project team. This will include defining and driving the overall vision of a game (including story-telling, level design, mechanics and tuning), playing and researching competitors? games and benchmarks, and ultimately shipping a great game.


What you need to have:

  • A passion for video games and game development.

  • At least 2 years of game design experience.

  • Undergraduate-level accreditation in a related discipline desirable.

  • An advanced understanding of cinematic and storytelling technique.

  • Solid understanding of overall game development processes including art, animation, design, software engineering and programming disciplines.

  • Ability to develop, communicate and execute on a strong, creative vision while also keeping that vision agile.

  • Ability to create design specifications that are technically realistic, elegant, and effective.

  • Proven ability to provide accurate time-line estimations and to successfully deliver within those time-lines.

  • Willingness to work extended hours.

  • Be motivated, creative and work well independently and as part of a team.

What we’d love you to have:
  • Familiarity with C++ and JAVA

  • Experience designing for handheld devices
