Position Summary:
This position exists to manage all handset planning activities, ranging from handset portfolio planning to product positioning to integrated marketing launch plans.
Principal Accountabilities:
Handset Portfolio Planning – Drive feature lockdown process with OEM to support handset selection; Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on establishing technical marketing requirements
Roadmap Planning – Maintain 12-month planning handset roadmap; Support Product Management to coordinate service features and handset roadmap; Provide handset forecast and analyses to support Engineering, Corporate Planning, Product Management, and Logistics
Product Marketing – Develop value proposition and product positioning statements to support Sales Training and Go-to-Market strategies; Formulate integrated marketing plan together with Distribution, Promotions, Sales Training, Merchandising, Branding, and Go-to-Market; Work with OEMs to understand ‘Lessons Learned’ from other product launches; Ensure user experience with each handset meets the expectation set at handset selection
Customer and Market Insights – Leverage OEM customer segmentation studies to understand consumer use cases and plan handset portfolio; Work with MetroPCS markets to understand our consumer trends and behavior; Monitor market trends and competitive landscape
Communication and Reporting – Publish handset planning roadmap; Forecast handset sales mix; Publish monthly handset summaries and competitive analyses
