Sr. RF Engineer - EchoStar Technologies

Position Description

The RF Engineer II, Sr. position is responsible for individual sections of design projects involving the EchoStar consumer set top box electronics as well as outdoor satellite television reception equipment. This position will take specifications to mass production.

Responsible for design calculations, specifications, test procedures, as well as analysis for mass production high volume design. Evaluation for cost analysis and optimization of design vs. performance is expected. Peer review by Senior and Staff engineers is expected.

RF designs involving 8PSK, QPSK, QAM, 8VSB and other digital communication methods.

RF Designs involving DVB, DOCSIS, OpenCable, Zigbee, Bluetooth, MoCA, WiFi, WiMax and similar technologies are desirable.

Specify, evaluate, and approve satellite receive set top box subcomponents including satellite and off-air digital demodulators, UHF remotes, and modulators.

Specify, evaluate, and approval of OEM and internal designs for outdoor equipment associated with satellite TV such receive antennas, LNBs, satellite switches, installation accessories, and off-air antennas.

Use and apply RF principles and design techniques to fabricate, troubleshoot, and test prototypes Document designs and write test procedures/reports

Issue final approval with supporting documentation to management and document control groups.

Help support our internal groups such as the design groups, manufacturing, service and management.

May be required to travel domestic and internationally in order to support product development.
