Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Our client, provider of Intelligent Broadband Networks products and solutions is currently interviewing for
a Director of Wireless Product Management.

Position will own the wireless product line and be responsible for definition and implementation of product strategies from concept to end-of-life. Using your knowledge of Wireless Networking technologies, you will drive technical and new product requirements as well as product enhancements. You will be responsible for researching current and prospective customers to deeply understand their needs, and turn that customer insight into actionable business and technical product requirements and plans.

The Director will define new features that meet market needs, assist in establishing product requirements and functionality, and provide technical marketing support for key initiatives. As well, you will drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, Product Marketing and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning. You will be the driving force behind the inception, planning, development and delivery of new products to market and managing releases of mature products.

Key areas of responsibility include; feature definition, profit and Loss (P&L) analysis, product requirements development (PRD’s), contribution to product positioning and business partnership efforts, product pricing, licensing, and packaging, market analysis including target segments, competitive analysis, and industry trends and maintaining the product roadmap.

You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering and create and review launch materials, customer presentations and sales training materials. You will take proactive ownership and anticipate potential risks, putting appropriate mitigation plans in place. You will also perform margin and pricing analysis and develop and maintain key customer relationships.

Skills
Undergraduate Engineering, Computer Science, or Business degree plus minimum 5 years related experience in networking, technical development or marketing
MBA or advanced degree is desirable
Strong understanding of the Product Management lifecycle and related methodologies
Technical background with an understanding of networking, specifically wireless and IP related technologies/hardware/systems
Experience developing and marketing equipment to Wireless Carriers is required.
Experience developing and marketing equipment to Service Providers preferred
Understands Engineering development processes and the software development lifecyle.
A visionary who can understand, communicate and share ideas and plans to company leadership in order to gain momentum and identify synergies.
Ability to monitor product line profitability market performance and quality market trends
Identify, analyze and evaluate new product related business opportunities.
Communicate with senior management on the business and technical performance of the product.
Strong business acumen, with solid technical and industry knowledge
Strong Project Management, negotiation, and decision-making skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent follow-through and execution skills
