Position Description

Title: UMTS/GSM SW Update Engineer
Duration – 6 Months contract
Location – Dallas, TX
Start – ASAP

Requirements –
· Engineer to load update packages on customer’s UMTS/GSM networks.
· The main activity consists of loading Ericsson software packages on GSM and UMTS nodes for our North American customers.
· Perform SW record comparison, health check and alarm clearing before and after correction loading. Customer’s nodes include: – GSM: MSC/HLR, BSC, APG – UMTS: RNC, RBS, MGW
· Minimum Requirements: Pertinent Experience of four (4) plus years of relevant experience with Ericsson software.
· Engineer should have good knowledge/experience with: – Ericsson UMTS products (RNC, RBS, MGw) update handling – AXE software update, RP SW and APG loading – Scripted packages using OSS – OSS OPS and SMO script handling tools – Live nodes/Emergency handling Process good communication skills, able to communicate clearly and coordinate activities with customers and Ericsson support engineers Work is performed locally in Plano office, remotely logging onto customer network, using Citrix and SSH.
· Night shift work generally from Sunday thru Thursday night.
