Senior Release Specialist- Wireless - Cox Communications

Position Description

The Senior Test Specialist coordinates activities related to the release of new products and services to the current user base and supports cross functional teams that conduct market launches. This role ensures that the suppliers and consumers of new software and hardware roll-outs in the organization are efficient and effective.

Job responsibilities include coordinating the initial release stages of new products and coordinating/facilitating post-release activities to ensure smooth product introduction. The Senior Test Specialist will work with a team of technical writers that support the release activities. This role works with product management, product developers, marketing, sales, implementation, support, finance, order processing, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities include:
- Planning and overseeing the successful roll-out of wireless services based on software or hardware changes across functional groups in the organization
- Manage, facilitate and coordinate the changes that will be implemented for each system release
- Communicate regularly with technical/business leads and team managers to ensure all activities on time for the release
- Communicate regularly the release information to the appropriate directors and staff
- Present the release planning and status to the organizational leaders
- Demonstrate organization skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ensures that change management is aware of what is being changed and that configuration management has been updated appropriately
- Create and manage the release plan that deploys the required software and hardware changes
- Manages customer and user expectations in the roll-out of changes and manages changes to the roll-out plan
- Management and supervisory responsibilities for team chartered with technical communication of changes to internal and customer stakeholders, with responsibility for hiring, performance appraisals, compensation reviews and terminations
- Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree
- 5+ years of software testing/ QA experience requires
- 2+ managing release processes in service companies
- 3+ years of experience working in a software as a service (SaaS) industry prefered
- Experience working in web based environments
- Experience working in cellular telecommunications industry
- Understanding of software and service development methodologies including familiarity with ITIL based processes
- Strong cross functional organizational skills required to interact with internal stakeholders on service and product releases
- Ability to prepare and present to small groups of internal and customers stakeholders
