Position Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for the design and development of tower mounted antenna array and antenna related components for digital wireless communication application. Will provide technical leadership for the analysis, design, modeling, fabrication, test, measurement and manufacture of innovative antenna designs. Candidate will also participate in the design of the logic hardware system for antenna control system.
Responsibilities:
• Define new, innovative array antennas
• Generate antenna specifications, initial concepts, and structure design,
• Proposal technical data sheets and cost/schedule estimating,
• Design, simulate (using computer aided design) and implement antenna array for wireless communications, such as GSM and WiMAX
• Create test plan for prototyping and production,
• Set the reliability test requirements based on the industry standards
• Planning and supervising near and far-field testing of antennas
• Limited International traveling to support customer application
• Participate within a team oriented environment using state-of-the-art development processes, methodologies and tools to design all mentioned antenna and related components.
Experience:
• BS degree in EE or a related technical field is strongly preferred
• 7+ years experience designing, simulating, analyzing, and testing antennas
• Extensive experience designing phased arrays
• Ability to use antenna EM modeling tools such as HFSS
• Extensive experience designing and implementing electrical down-tilt systems (VET/RET)
• Requires full competency in core RF antenna skills
• Ability to interact with Mechanical Engineers to generate manufacturable antenna designs
• Extensive hands-on experience with RF test equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot RF circuitry
• Ability to take accurate antenna performance measurements using network analyzer, spectrum analyzer
• Familiar with basic RF circuit design and schematic development
• Hands on skills for RF matching and antenna prototype development
• Familiarity with antenna measurements such as VSWR, gain, and patterns
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a global cross-functional team, including customers
• RF Engineering knowledge and the impact of antenna patterns on cellular system performance highly desired
• Knowledge of and exposure to high-volume manufacturing highly desired
