Position Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for design, development and test of control and monitoring system for tower mounted devices which are part of tower antenna system for wireless digital communication application, e.g. GSM, W-CDMA and WiMAX. Candidate will work closely with HW and SW engineers to design the product and Manufacturing ATE SW.
Responsibility:
Design, development and prototyping of control and monitoring system for tower mounted devices, e.g. PA and LNA, which are part of tower antenna systems
Working closely with antenna designers and RF/Logic hardware designers to define the requirements for the control and monitoring system.
Work with SW engineers to develop high and low level routines in C/C+.
Work with SW engineer to develop drivers, GUIs, scripts and application programs.
Participating in overall antenna array system design team meetings and reviews.
Work with test engineer to develop test program and software.
Requires close interaction and participation with a team of software and hardware developers.
Generate development documents and user manuals.
Experience:
• MS or BS in EE or Computer Science or related discipline,
• A minimum of 7-10 yrs experience in a team-based software engineering environment,
• Experience in embedded product development,
• 2 years experience with development and documenting digital wireless commutation subsystem or system testing,
• 2+ years experience with Source Code Control and Problem Tracking tools required,
• RF / logic test equipment operational experience is desired,
• Knowledge of wireless communication systems and protocols (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WiMAX, etc) is preferred,
• Knowledge of test automation tools is desired,
• Knowledge of software programming for GPIB interfaces,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills,
• Strong foundation in C++ & C,
• Good logic hardware and SW development process skills,
• DSP/algorithm development or implementation experience is a plus.
