Position Description
Pre-Sales Engineer
Our client, a leading provider of Operations Support Systems (OSS), Business Support Systems (BSS), Provisioning and Wireless Device Activation software applications and professional services, is currently building its sales support organization and is actively seeking Pre-Sales Engineer to support carrier accounts. This will be virtual office positions and our client require High-Performance, Low-Maintenance employees. Ideal location is NYC, Atlanta, Chicago.
Our client’s customer base includes enterprises, OEMs, solution providers and operators that want to fully exploit the capabilities of their employees’ and subscribers’ connected devices. Through their Software-as-a-Service offering, our client has created the leading platform enabling devices around the world to benefit from embedded connectivity.
Duties:
This position is responsible for supporting the sale and implementation of applications for customers.
Lead presentations and demonstrations of the firm technical value proposition to prospective customers and partners including executives through highly technical levels
Train firm’s channel partner sales force on the technical and ROI value proposition of the product suite
Develop, manage and provide reporting for all customer programs, including product evaluations, pilot installation, legacy and new product implementation.
Coordinate product evaluations and certification with customers
Maintain on-going relationship with Business Unit Management and technical contacts within customer accounts.
Effectively interact with the engineering and support teams to provide solutions to complex technical issues
Provide on-site support for customer implementations and troubleshooting as required
Education, Experience and Skills requirements
Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in salient technologies and industry verticals.
5+ years of wireless applications and infrastructure experience, preferably GSM / GPRS experience in a technical pre-sales and/or post-sales role.
Understanding of wireless solution design and knowledge of manufacturers and product lines.
Previous experience with the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and/or Mobile Device Management space is plus.
Strong knowledge of GSM / GPRS radio and core network architecture, wireless device operation, basic switching and routing concepts, firewalls and active traffic management techniques and tools including NATing, caching and compression and basic network security background including SSL and IPSEC
Ability to provide hands-on, on-site technical support
Must be able to travel and perform sales presentations, marketing and user group events, and emergency on-site support to customer locations.
Asset Management / Product Service, Fleet Management, Point of Sale, Security, Utilities a plus.
Travel can be approximately 50%
