We do this through strategic and functional engagements that help align business, IT and Mobility strategies.
TELUS Mobility Advisory Services approaches client problems through a proven consulting methodology and deep technical capabilities to ensure that our customers can address business problems effectively, have realistic implementation roadmaps and measure the efficacy of complex mobility solutions.
Position overview:

As a Senior Consultant within our Mobility Advisory Services team, your mandate will be to provide strategic and functional professional services to TELUS’s enterprise clients. You will be tasked with the delivery of mobility strategies, roadmaps, assessments, project management and business case development services in support of defined client operational processes and business goals. You will also facilitate the design and implementation of complex mobile solutions with application partners to ensure the success of the recommended strategy.

NOTE* This posting is part of ongoing recruitment efforts as we build a strong national practice. There will be opportunities for Senior Consultants (Mobility) in BC, Alberta and Ontario over the next 12-16 months. Responsibilities:

• Work with corporate sales, product development, and external solution partners to promote, position and sell mobility advisory services to medium to large enterprise clients by discussing the approach, the value, TELUS core capabilities and relevant experience from other client engagements
• Plan and facilitate consultative workshops with clients designed to identify areas in which wireless solutions can help clients achieve their business goals. Prioritize opportunities and create a ‘next steps’ plan for clients
• Coordinate and project-manage formal Managed Pilots of complex wireless solutions with Enterprise clients, to enhance their likelihood of full scale implementation
• Design and deliver 2 to 6 week mobility consulting engagements with enterprise clients. This will include business process re-engineering, technology gap assessments, organizational and people gap assessments, business case development and roadmap development. You will work with VP/Director level leaders from operations, sales and marketing and technology at the client.
• Assist Corporate Sales Account managers in overcoming resistance from clients through value adding advice and consultative selling support in joint sales calls
• Provide strategic leadership on solutions for complex proposals (unsolicited and RFP-driven)
• Provide clients with industry thought leadership, a TELUS perspective on emerging wireless technologies (e.g. 4G networks, WiMAX, Location-based services, etc.) and the implications for their business
• Support the development of partners in the wireless data market by: leveraging partners to create wireless solutions for clients, facilitating conflict resolution between partners, and becoming intimately familiar with solution partners in TELUS’ Alliance Program.
• Work as a team to achieve the following 3 objectives:
• Increase professional services revenues by delivering high value services to our enterprise clients
• Increase wireless data and voice loads through support on big deals resulting from professional services
• Work with internal wireless technology experts and external Application Partners to develop compelling wireless solution offerings for enterprise clients



Required Knowledge:

• Technology/business consulting, project management, telecom/wireless

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Three to five years years of hands-on business strategy, IT strategy, business process and/or supply chain experience in a Tier 1 management consulting or systems integration firm. Example firms include A.T. Kearney, Accenture, Bain, BearingPoint (KPMG), BCG, CGEY, Deloitte, HP, IBM Global Services, McKinsey and Secor
• Strong background and knowledge of wireless technology (CDMA, EvDO, iDEN, WLAN, RFID etc) and Telecommunications industry in general
• Experience and working knowledge of leading wireless data application categories (CRM, SFA, Field force automation, AVL, SCADA etc)
• Ability to communicate easily with internal technology experts to understand evolving road maps and create focus on serving key business needs
• Strong competencies are required in thought leadership, commercial acumen, collaboration, and execution – the ability to drive towards tangible results is critical
• Preferred, an MBA from leading institutions such as Ivey, Rotman, UBC, INSEAD, London Business School etc.
• Some experience in or exposure to IT Strategy Development and technology-enabled Enterprise Transformation Initiatives
• Client acquisition experience for services. Ability to sell and position advisory services
• Wireless experience an asset, but not required

• Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, motivational and coaching skill-sets
• Can influence senior clients
• Ability to overcome resistance, solve problems and motivate people to take action – experience in managing virtual teams without formal authority. Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups with diverse needs
• Ability to shape, and design streams of work for self and others including storyboards, analysis and business models
• Comfortable with and thrives on ambiguous situations. Embraces unclear situations as an opportunity to show leadership.
• An entrepreneurial spirit which will drive passionate ownership, and responsibility for the client opportunities
• Strong computer skills with fluent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Work, and Excel

Required Experience:

• Consulting – Systems Integration, Wireless Networks, Corp Strategy, Business Transformation (5-7yrs)
• Sales – Large, complex bids of several million dollars – ideally selling consulting services also (3-5yrs)
• Technology – good familiarity with Enterprise systems and IT groups, wireless networks, corp procurement (3-5yrs)
