Position Description
This position will be responsible for driving seamless and efficient integration of existing and new services into new wireless devices enabled by multiple software/hardware platforms and supporting different user experiences. This individual will also be responsible for driving improvements in the process of integrating existing and new service platforms into devices with evolving software platforms. In this role, the technical lead will be a coordination point between Product Development & Integration team and Device Marketing & Product Line Management teams. This individual will interface with OEMs, Integrators and Third Party developers to analyze their solutions and provide inputs related to overall service and device platform requirements and architectures
Qualifications:
• BS degree in EE or CS or related degree (MS. In EE or CS preferred).
• Minimum 6+ years experience working within the telecommunications industry
• Previous technical lead and/or engineering management experience required.
• Wireless engineering experience, strong understanding of wireless infrastructure and device architectures
• Excellent knowledge of EVDO, IP Networks, IP and Web Protocols (XML, AJAX, etc).
• Expertise on multiple Mobile Platforms such as (Windows Mobile, Blackberry OS, Android, Linux, Java)
• Software/application development experience.
• Vendor Management experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to drive initiatives through coordination and collaboration with multiple internal and external teams.
• Ability to present and interact with decision makers both internal and external to Verizon Wireless
• Good understanding of network operations (Field and Corporate)
• Broad knowledge of the wireless industry and advanced wireless technologies
• Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment
