Position Description
Responsible for capacity monitoring and planning of the BSS network. This includes ensuring all signaling links are not exceeding capacity, BTS air interface is adequately equipped and reconfiguration efforts for load balancing and additional network elements needed for capacity enhancements or traffic changes in the network. This would include implementation of new features purchased by the customer, software updates needed to improve efficiency of the network. Working with the TSS team on behalf of the customer requests for new BSS elements and features.
Takes direction from Core Planning and Optimization manager and Key client contacts on customer Network projects and escalated trouble.
Network Service performance focused.
Able to work as a member of team and support planning and interface with customer on network changes.
Experience in utilization of various scripts within Unix and other database operating systems.
Results oriented, good skills in leading and motivating people. Excellent team player.
Open approach to solving problems and dealing with new proposals.
A thorough and methodical approach to work.
Good knowledge of network operation process and interfaces high degree of analytical and investigative abilities.
Excellent knowledge in Access, Oracle, wireless element databases, etc.
Have management exposure in operating in a network environment.
Experience in setting up a new surveillance management platform will be an added advantage.
Analytical skills in preparing reports and experience in project management.
Development and approval of MOPs necessary for new technology and product introduction.
Responsible for reviewing network capacity and current call models.
Requirements:
4+ years of working experience in Telecommunication industry, preferably in operation of network design of a BSS network for CDMA.
Understands OSS, Billing, Customer care and surveillance systems utilized in a cellular network.
Must be able to work well in a high-pressure environment and interface to the client.
Must be computer literate in MS Office Suite.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, etc.
