The Wireless Network Solutions group currently has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer located at our Ashburn, Virginia location.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This customer-interfacing position is responsible for providing detailed system design and some software/hardware development oversight of new location system products for GSM, WCDMA, and IP based commercial networks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design systems for new products and features.
Resolve issues, interface with customers, and provide communication on new and existing products and features.
Prepare detailed requirements and design documents.
Prepare and execute interoperability test plans.
Focus on control and user plane location products and product features.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
BSEE or equivalent
5 or more years of work experience, including direct hardware/software product design experience.
Knowledge of GSM/UMTS/WiMax systems including air interface, core equipment, and interfaces.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of SS7 protocols (MTP, M3UA, SCCP, TCAP)
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and concepts (routing, VLAN, VRRP, NAT)
Knowledge of GPS and other location technologies and methods
Experience with Solaris or similar UNIX OS
