Position Description
This position is accountable for all product launch and product lifecycle management of wireless products and accessories with Cox Wireless. Responsibilities include development of product briefs, training materials, managing and deploying maintenance releases, monthly tracking and reporting on in market performance and taking product to end of life. In addition this role will be responsible for ensuring that requirements for applications and services align with product capabilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and manage product lifecycle short and long term strategy, including launch, maintenance, enhancements, and end of life.
• Own the creation and development of the Product Requirements Document, which facilitates the product planning process
• Create product briefs and work with marketing team on product positioning and channel strategy.
• Manage the approval and deployment of device maintenance releases coordinating with Supply Chain, Customer Care and the Field when necessary.
• Lead cross-functional teams as appropriate in the preparation, dissemination and maintenance of customer communications as it relates to devices and accessories
• Prepare, analyze and track monthly financial results and take appropriate actions to ensure operational excellence and achieving annual goals. Develop and execute to key financial and business targets/metrics.
• Conduct post mortems via focus groups, surveys and presentation, both pre- and post launch of new product/system/features in order to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Successfully collaborate with internal teams to execute go to market, launch, maintenance and close-out programs.
• Work with Marketing in the development/creating and timely delivery of inbox materials such as inserts and user guides.
• Work with Customer Care, Marketing and the Field to provide content and direction for training.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on competitive environment on a quarterly basis
• Recognized as the Subject Matter Expert for all aspects of the wireless products
• Prepares and provides presentations to executive management to communicate status on projects and new initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors degree in a technical discipline required. Masters degree a plus.
2. Required 7 to 10 years of previous work experience with a wireless carrier, device OEM or a related industry including 5 years of previous management or leadership experience.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the wireless device development process, technical architecture and enabling technologies. Working knowledge of CDMA, and LTE technologies is a plus
4. Self-starter with ability to manage projects and relationships independently.
6. Demonstrated operational, technology, and business analysis expertise.
7. Demonstrated record of influencing and decision making at multiple levels in an organization.
8. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, network, collaborate and accomplish goals through others in a diverse employee population.
9. Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with specific expertise in management reporting and executive writing skills.
10. Some travel required.
