The IT Systems Administrator’s role is to provide a single point of contact
for resolving technical problems with Solaris and Red Hat Linux servers.
Provide phone support in an enterprise client server environment, while
assuring the highest level of customer support and adhering to the service
delivery requirements as laid out by IT SLAs.

The responsibilities include the following:
• Acquiring, installing, screening, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and
upgrading all UNIX /Linux server hardware, operating system, and software to ensure optimal performance. The person will also troubleshoot problems (including working with second level groups as it pertains to direct user and server support issues
• IT Systems Administrator’s role is to optimize servers and related
components to achieve high availability and performance of the various
business applications supported. This includes designing, installing,
configuring, administering, and fine-tuning operating systems and components
across the organization in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide project support and recommendations for servers, storage area network and desktop related requirements (Hardware and Software).
• Provide recommendations and coordinating activities on technologies, services, and server/storage configurations
• Administer and maintain Fibre Channel network(s) for Server, SAN, and backup
hardware connections.
• Administer and maintain corporate backups
• Administer and maintain corporate storage systems (NetApp).

The IT Systems Administrator must be able to adhere to corporate policies and procedures and pay attention to security, risk and compliance with various regulations and assisting in developing policies, standards, and procedures for the IT server operating environment following the TL9000 process. Candidate will be required to be on-call approximately every 1 week a month, and will provide back-up of designated employee.

Summary of Qualifications:
• B.S/B.A in Computer Science/MIS, related field or 8+ years relevant
experience
• 7+ years experience with UNIX and Linux administration
• 7+ years experience in supporting UNIX and Windows DNS/DHCP environments
• 7+ years experience doing server hardware and operating system support
• 7+ years experience with NIS, NIS+, and LDAP environments
• 7+ years experience Windows and UNIX DNS administration and support
• Experienced understanding of DMZ environments
• Excellent understanding of enterprise security and risk
• Strong understanding of hardware and software configuration across a broad
spectrum
• Ability to keep up with hardware and software industry trends/new products
• IT related technical certifications, such as Net+ a big plus, UNIX and/or
Linux administration certification, OEM certifications (Dell, Compaq, HP,
etc.), other certifications and/or training as required
• Strong understanding of the Exchange mail environment
• Strong understanding of the sendmail mail environment
• Strong understanding of the spam filtering environment
• Strong understanding of running secure networks, hardening servers,
implementing and monitoring performance measures
• Strong knowledge of shell scripts, perl
