Position Description

The FLO TV™ solution is an end-to-end service, opening new market opportunities to all members of the mobile TV value chain, including wireless carriers, programming partners, advertisers and device manufacturers. MediaFLO USA is deploying a nationwide broadcast network utilizing 700 MHz UHF band at approximately 50KW ERP to transmit live, high-quality stereo audio and video content to mobile phones. This position focuses on operations and maintenance of high and low power transmitters and satellite subsystems as well as associated infrastructure. Broadcast Transmitter Engineers also aid in the installation, commissioning and integration of these new facilities into the network using departmental provided test procedures. Engineers in the MediaFLO USA Field Operations team are high energy professionals responsible for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as emergency restorative procedures. They frequently anticipate at least 50% travel on various domestic assignments.

Skills and Experience:
- 5 + years RF broadcast experience including Ku Band satellite systems and primary and backup AC electrical systems
- Thorough knowledge of industry standard best practices required
- Ability to troubleshoot broadcast, network IP and telecom subsystems utilizing complex, specialized test equipment (i.e. spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, et al) and standard hand tools
- Must be able to climb short ladders, lift at least 50 pounds and maintain a valid driving license

Additional Skills and Experience:
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Well developed communication and computer skills with an emphasis on understanding complex technical drawings and reports essential
- Ability to multitask in a high energy environment and remain calm under pressure
- FCC licenses and/or SBE certifications are a plus

Education:
A related technical degree or equivalent military experience is required
