MoMac,
the leading mobile media publisher, today announced that it has
completed a deal with UK network operator, 3, to fully manage and
deliver its on-portal news and information services powered by its
carrier grade delivery engine, GoPortal - an operator module of MoMac’s
award winning multimedia delivery platform, GoMedia.

The
fully personalised service will feature media rich mobile internet
sites and video clips with news from ITN, weather from meteorological
experts WSI and astrology from Russell Grant.  Users will
be able to customise their mobile experience by setting up their own
news and information preferences such as sports, business news, finance
or traffic updates. These preferences are then stored and used to
create a completely personalised News and Information service.

As
part of the deal, MoMac will also be providing 3 with the world’s first
mobile news agent where 3’s customers will be able to select mobile
versions of their favourite newspapers and magazines as part of a
highly personalised mobile experience.

Content
for the mobile newsagent will be provided by leading national
newspapers, as well as magazines from MoMac’s list of premium UK
publishing partners including Bauer (FHM and Heat) IPC (Marie Claire
and NME) Future (T3) and Dennis (Men’s Fitness and Auto Express). Phase
2 of the project will bring a whole host of other titles and will offer
the user the most comprehensive mobile internet newsagent anywhere in
the World.

Sham
Careem, MD, MoMac UK, said: “Consumers of mobile services need to find
the content that is relevant to them quickly and easily. The days of
having to click through multiple pages to get to their desired
destination are coming to an end. With GoPortal, we bring the content
to the user.  As well as personalisation, the new service allows users to be able to access news and information from their favourite brands”

“The
service that we have created with 3 meets the increasing demands of the
mobile user head on, allowing high levels of personalisation as well as
bringing household media brands to the mobile screen in a way that has
the user at the centre of the interactive experience. Many of our
various media clients across Europe have shown a keen interest in our
personalisation technology, and we expect to begin rolling it out on
client sites shortly.”
