Verizon debuts new messaging phone

Verizon Wireless today released the Blitz, a messaging phone made by UTStarcom that features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The device, which is aimed at heavy texters, costs $70 with a two-year contract. 

The phone comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera,  a music player supporting MP3 and WMA formats and a microSD memory slot. The Blitz also comes pre-installed with V Cast Music with Rhapsody, though over-the-air music downloads are not supported.
