Sprint Nextel launched a new mobile broadband plan for business users, offering 500 MB of data per month for $40.

The carrier is touting the plan, called Connection Plan for Corporate Liable accounts, as offering more data than AT&T or Verizon Wireless at the price. On the Sprint plan, customers pay 5 cents for each additional MB of data over the cap. Sprint said the plan is compatible with all devices in its mobile broadband device portfolio, including the new Novatel-made MiFi device.

In May, Verizon increased its data cap from 50 MB to 250 MB for subscribers of its $40 per month plan. Verizon also reduced its overage fees for its $60 and $40 mobile broadband plans, from 25 cents per MB to 5 cents per MB and 10 cents per MB, respectively.

For its $40 per month plan, AT&T charges about $1 per MB as an overage rate. The carrier charges 51 cents per MB for its $60 plan.
