Sony Ericsson buoys Sony's year-end results

Sony Ericsson ended up being the shining star in parent company Sony's year-end 2006 financial report: The JV posted stellar growth of 47 percent in revenues and a 139 percent increase in income before taxes. Sony Ericsson contributed $167 million in net income to Sony's equity thanks to strong sales of its Walkman and Cyber-shot handsets.
