Alcatel-Lucent is Sued by Klausner Technologies for Visual Voicemail Patent Infringement

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Klausner Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has filed suit against Alcatel-Lucent Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ALU) for patent infringement under its U.S. Visual Voicemail patents.

The lawsuit is based on the sale in the United States of Alcatel-Lucent enterprise voicemail products such as Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch My Instant Communicator - Mobile Edition, OmniTouch My Instant Communicator - Desktop Client, OmniPCX PIMphony Softphone Visual Mailbox, OmniTouch 8440 MS, OmniPCX PIMphony Voicemail to Email, OmniTouch 8440 MS for IP phones, OmniTouch 8400 Instant Communications Suite IBM Lotus Notes Add-in Client, OmniTouch 8400 My Instant Communicator MS Outlook Add-in Client and Alcatel-Lucent Rich Communications Manager, all of which allow users to selectively retrieve enterprise voicemail and which infringe Klausner Technologies' Visual Voicemail Patents.

Klausner Technologies currently has 33 Visual Voicemail patent licensees under its U.S., European, and Asian patents, including major U.S. and European mobile operators, international cell phone manufacturers, cable/VOIP providers as well as providers of Visual Voicemail products and services for the enterprise market. Avaya Inc. has recently signed a patent license under Klausner Technologies’ Visual Voicemail patents for its own enterprise voicemail products.

“33 companies worldwide have now signed patent license agreements with us under our Visual Voicemail patents. As the inventor of these patents and on behalf of our company, I just can’t allow unlicensed companies to use our IP,” said Judah Klausner, Klausner Technologies’ President. The suit has been filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas by the California law firm of Dovel & Luner.
