Belgacom Selects BroadSoft for IMS-based Voice Services
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM AND GAITHERSBURG, MD, July 16, 2008 - BroadSoft, Inc., the leading provider of VoIP application software, announced that its BroadWorks® application platform has been selected by Belgian telecom operator Belgacom to deliver voice and multimedia services to the enterprise market. The BroadWorks® application platform will be used on top of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core network. The service is already commercially available and will migrate from a pre-IMS environment onto the IMS core network.
Belgacom's Integrated Telephony Services (ITS) is targeting SMEs and multisite enterprises, e.g. retailers with Hosted Unified Communications service packages and phones, including desktop clients that increase productivity, such as BroadWorks Receptionist.
"We were looking for a proven IMS-compliant application platform that contains a broad spectrum of advanced features, including integration with common office applications like Microsoft Outlook&Reg;," said Hendrik Van De Velde, Vice President of Products and Solutions Enterprise for Belgacom. "With the range of features that BroadSoft's BroadWorks enables us to offer, we believe that our ITS service will be the most advanced Hosted Unified Communications product in the Belgian market."
BroadWorks is the leading VoIP application technology that is IMS compliant. Nearly 300 service providers around the globe have chosen BroadSoft as their voice and multimedia services platform provider.
"Belgacom required a proven application platform for their service offering," said Michael Tessler, BroadSoft's President and CEO. "BroadSoft has more IMS and standalone deployments than any other vendor and we have become the de-facto solution for the majority of Europe's leading operators."
