Bling Nation Expands Management Team, Adds Head of Strategic Alliances
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bling Nation, a provider of mobile payments services that connect financial institutions, businesses and consumers through tap to pay purchases at the point of sale, announced the addition of Shan Mehta to the company’s management team.
Mehta will lead Bling Nation’s strategic alliances and will focus on the development of prospective strategic partnerships for the company. Mehta will be also responsible for maintaining and expanding existing relationships, to illustrate the powerful value proposition that Bling Nation brings to its partners.
“As Bling Nation expands our strategic relationships nationally, we are looking to align with organizations that enable a rich payment experience for consumers, businesses and financial institutions,” said Meyer Malka, founder, co-CEO and director of Bling Nation. “The addition of Shan positions Bling Nation to bring on future partners who share our goal of delivering innovation and value to communities.”
In his most recent position, Mehta was the owner of Detroit-based Evigna LLC, a promotional merchandise distribution company serving brands such as GE, The Ritz-Carlton® Hotel Company, Ford Motor Company and HBO®. Mehta was instrumental in the acquisition, restructuring and strategic direction of Evigna, as well as the eventual sale of the company in 2010.
Prior to Evigna, Mehta served as an analyst for New York-based Princes Gate Investors, a Morgan Stanley private equity fund, where he focused on venture investments in enterprise software, storage and semiconductor companies. He also worked as an investment associate at Chicago-based GTCR, a private equity firm, where he evaluated potential investments in software and service companies, and is a partner at CITG Capital Partners, an investment firm based in Michigan.
Mehta holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Business School and his MBA from INSEAD.
“As Bling Nation focuses on delivering innovation to consumers through tap and pay purchases, we will partner with organizations that share our vision of making mobile payments at the point of sale available to consumers, businesses and financial institutions nationwide,” said Mehta.
