Cozi Signs Up 1 Million New Family Members During Record-Breaking Back-to-School Season
Online and mobile family calendar and organization service also begins partnerships with T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cozi, the No. 1 online and mobile family calendar and organization service, today announced a record-breaking back-to-school 2011 season, with more than 1 million new family members joining the service to prepare for the new school year.
Cozi’s year-over-year sign-ups increased by more than 100 percent in 2011, reaching nearly 400 percent during the 2011 back-to-school season compared with the same period in 2010. The 2011 back-to-school season represented more new users than all of 2009 combined, and August 2011 was the highest sign-up month in Cozi history.
Cozi also engaged in new partnerships with T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular during fall 2011, extending Cozi’s simple, intuitive approach to family organization to both cellular providers’ users with the MobileLife Family Organizer and U.S. Cellular Family Organizer. Cozi’s free mobile apps keep the whole family organized on the go, no matter their smartphone of choice. Android phones are most popular among Cozi users, with 57 percent of mobile installs, while iPhones make up 38 percent of installs, and BlackBerry rounds out the mobile platforms with 5 percent.
Cozi helps the whole family play a role in staying organized. Cozi’s users are 65 percent female and 35 percent male, with 70 percent between the ages of 25 and 54. Nearly 20 percent of Cozi users are under the age of 18, demonstrating that kids are joining their parents in keeping the family on-schedule. Families coast-to-coast depend on Cozi to stay organized, as illustrated by the geographic diversity of the states where the No. 1 family calendar is most popular: California, Texas, Ohio, Illinois and Florida.
“Transitioning into a new school year can be a hectic time for everyone in the household, and we’re happy that we eased the strain for so many families this year,” said Cozi CEO Robbie Cape. “Cozi was created specifically for families, and features like shared to-do lists, a family journal and automatic synching with school district calendars set it apart as the best solution for today’s busy families. The tremendous growth we’ve seen this year, and during the back-to-school season in particular, is a testament to the value Cozi families are receiving.”
