CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cricket Communications, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, today announced the appointment of Alphonso King as vice president for Midwest Markets. King is responsible for management of all field sales, marketing and customer operations across Cricket’s Midwest region, which includes Chicago, St. Louis, Northwest Indiana, Rockford, Illinois and Milwaukee/Madison, Wisconsin, and he will lead team of employees across direct, indirect and national retail channels.

Prior to joining Cricket, King held numerous senior managerial positions throughout the wireless industry. Most recently, King served as regional vice president of sales, distribution and marketing with MetroPCS. Preceding that, King was the Midwest area vice president for Sprint/Nextel Partners, covering Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Idaho, North Dakota and South Dakota.

King possesses a BBA in Operational Management and an MBA in Human Resources, with a secondary concentration in Marketing.
