CTIA–The Wireless Association Announces David Diggs as Vice President of Wireless Internet Development

CTIA-The Wireless Association® today announced that David Diggs has been appointed as the Vice President of Wireless Internet Development. Effective August 3rd, Diggs will be responsible for CTIA's Wireless Internet Caucus (WIC) and work with industry stakeholders to further accelerate the growth of the wireless data segment of the industry. Diggs previously served as the Executive Director of The Wireless Foundation.

 

"With more than 30 years of experience in the mobile telecommunications industry, David is a valued, seasoned industry veteran who will bring the same high-level commitment and dedication to CTIA's wireless internet development efforts as he did to The Wireless Foundation," said Steve Largent, President and CEO of CTIA-The Wireless Association. "We look forward to working with David in his new role."

Diggs began his tenure at CTIA in 1995 as the Vice President of Operations, transitioned to Vice President of CIBERNET Corporation (CTIA's for-profit subsidiary) in 1997, and later assumed his current role as Executive Director of The Wireless Foundation in 2000. Prior to his time at CTIA, Diggs spent nearly 20 years serving in leadership positions at a variety of wireless companies. Some of those roles included, Director of Retail Distribution for American Mobile Satellite Corporation, General Manager for Dispatch Communications, Inc. (now Sprint Nextel), Regional Operations Manager for Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems, Inc., (now Verizon Wireless), and Senior Marketing Representative for the original Cellular One (now AT&T Mobility) network in the Washington-Baltimore market. Diggs began his career as the Market Research and Planning Manager for American Radio-Telephone Service.
