Largest Structure Ever Built in Washington, DC’s Union Station

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced today a five day interactive event in the main hall of Washington, DC’s Union Station. From June 14th-18th, CTIA will host a 50-foot-wide “Wireless Freedom Dome”– a 360-degree interactive experience where visitors can submit photos and messages using their wireless devices.

“Americans are enjoying more communications choices and benefits than ever before, thanks to wireless. With more than 286 million subscriber connections, 240,000 apps and 630 devices, wireless users can ‘let freedom ring’ in a number of different ways thanks to the technology. CTIA encourages Union Station visitors and all wireless users to participate and express in this unique setting how wireless enriches their lives,” said Steve Largent, president and CEO of CTIA-The Wireless Association.

Wireless subscribers are invited to share text messages or photos from their wireless devices that express the freedom provided to them by mobile communication. Text messages may be sent to “70491” and photos may be emailed to freedom@vibes.com. The text messages and photos will be on display within the Wireless Freedom Dome in Union Station throughout the week.

Message and data rates may apply, and consumers are reminded to text “STOP” if they would like to end their participation. They may also text “HELP” for assistance. The opportunity to participate is available on most carriers.

To see the Wireless Freedom Dome and the personal messages and photos, visit Union Station at 50 Massachusetts Ave., NE.

The Wireless Freedom Dome is a part of CTIA’s national campaign, “Wireless is Freedom” that focuses on the innovative mobile products and services for U.S. consumers. CTIA and the wireless industry have also produced a TV advertisement that highlights some of the many applications that are available and improving Americans’ businesses and lives.
