ESPNdeportes.com Launches on ESPN Mobile Web
In a continuing effort to serve Hispanic sports fans wherever and whenever, ESPN Mobile announces it has made ESPNdeportes.com available to mobile users. The launch of the site will mean one-click access to news, scores and stats from ESPN Deportes. The new site is available for free to anyone with mobile internet access.
"ESPN recognizes that the U.S. Hispanic market is one of the most important mobile segments and that Hispanic users consume more content from their cell phones than the general population," said Oke Okaro, vice president, mobile product development and international digital media. "ESPN's Mobile Web is consistently one of the top 10 most trafficked mobile Web sites in the United States and we believe adding ESPN Deportes content enhances our overall offering for a new audience. Now U.S. Hispanic fans will have access to their favorite sports news and information right in the palm of their hand.
At launch, the ESPN Deportes mobile Web site will feature:
* In-depth soccer coverage, including Primera División de México, Argentina, Futebol Brasileiro, English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, MLS, and all the most popular global and Central/South American leagues and tournaments
* News and scores from MLB, NBA, NFL as well as other sports like boxing, motorsports, tennis, and golf
* Breaking news and analysis, live scores and gamecast, schedules, standings
* Player search for direct access to Latin American and Hispanic stars
* Ability to set favorite teams from the NFL, MLB, NBA, and various soccer leagues; fans can get all the latest news and scores for their favorite teams directly from the homepage

ESPN's mobile Web site will offer additional functions in the near future, including increased coverage of rugby, Latin American baseball and global basketball; special coverage sections for events; fantasy games; Spanish-language breaking news and team alerts.
