Fotopedia Introduces its Digital Magazine; Partners with Flipboard for Debut
The Beauty of the World in Visual Stories
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, Fotopedia, the publisher of popular apps for iPhone and iPad, brings its first digital magazine to Flipboard, the innovative social magazine for iPad. The Fotopedia Magazine is a new way to discover, explore and share the beauty of the world through stunning slide shows organized as visual stories.
The Fotopedia Magazine brings some of the world’s most beautiful images to life in an immersive and intimate environment, designed for the mobile lifestyle. It will be updated several times a day on Flipboard with always new and unexpected visual treats, showcasing what is possible when great photography meets the iPad.
The Fotopedia Magazine lets you embark on an endless series of explorations around the world from Armenia to Zanzibar. The world treasures and cultures unfold, ranging from Buddhism to shipwrecks, ghosts towns to urban street art, in a succession of unusual discoveries, where the photos tell the stories.
“The world is changing fast, media consumption is shifting to mobile devices or very large screens, and people have less time and patience. Beautiful photos are a perfect way to construct compelling stories and deliver satisfying and culturally enriching entertainment,” said Jean Marie Hullot, CEO of Fotopedia. “Flipboard has done an amazing job building a magazine platform on the iPad. We’re delighted to be launching our first digital magazine with them.”
“By featuring Fotopedia on Flipboard, we’re bringing even more stunning visual content to our readers--the photos galleries are simply amazing," said Josh Quittner, editorial director at Flipboard. "Flipping through them feels like taking a trip around the world.”
The Fotopedia Magazine is a tribute to the Fotopedia community of photographers and curators who are passionate about sharing or finding the world’s very best photos. It’s also an acknowledgment to the professional photographers who collaborated with Fotopedia to create the best-selling apps such as National Parks, North Korea, Above France and Memory of Colors.
The Fotopedia Magazine is available for free today on Flipboard, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and the mobile web. To see more, please go to Fotopedia.com.
