Gunzoo, Inc. Announces Its Business Content at TechCrunch DISRUPT San Francisco, in the U.S.
YOKOHAMA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Gunzoo, Inc. (President: Toshikazu Shinohara; Location: Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan; hereinafter "Gunzoo") announced today that it took part in "TechCrunch DISRUPT San Francisco" (sponsored by TechCrunch, U.S.; September 27-29, 2010) a launch event for start-ups and officially announced its business content. Gunzoo was selected as one of 25 finalists among over 500 start-up companies from around the world, and was the only company to be selected from Asia.
Gunzoo owns the patent and utilizes the software of "fabric video," a technology that transmits large numbers of videos into a single video stream using H.264/AVC, and which was developed by Dr. Hiroyuki Kasai, Associate Professor of The University of Electro-Communications and Director of Gunzoo's R&D Division. To respond to anticipated demand for its large-scale Web service, Gunzoo signed a joint research agreement with the Kasai Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications and aims to further improve the fabric video technology to offer higher performance and greater functionality.
Gunzoo will continue to develop its Web service business and its software licensing business. Gunzoo plans to announce more concrete and specific Web services at a later date. For the software licensing business, Gunzoo plans to target device manufacturers such as PCs and set top box (STB) by providing SDK (Software Development Kit) for fabric video's software license, thereby expanding the market for new video experiences. We expect the Web service business and software licensing business to be released in 2011.
