J2 Global Communications, Inc. is Sued by Klausner Technologies for Visual Voicemail Patent Infringement

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Klausner Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has filed suit against J2 Global Communications (NASDQ:JCOM) for patent infringement under its U.S. Visual Voicemail patents.

The lawsuit is based on the sales in the United States of J2 voicemail products such as jConnect Premier J2 Messenger Client, jConnect Premier Voicemail to Email, My1Voice Enhanced Voicemail, PhonePeople Message Mate Voicemail to Email, Phone People Follow Me Voicemail to Email, Phone People Virtual Office Voicemail to Email, onebox Web Portal, onebox Voicemail to Email, onebox Mobile Apps, eVoice Web Portal, eVoice Voicemail to Email, and eVoice Mobile Apps, all of which allow users to selectively retrieve voicemail messages and which infringe Klausner Technologies' Visual Voicemail Patents.

Klausner Technologies currently has 33 Visual Voicemail patent licensees under its U.S., European, and Asian patents, including major U.S. and European mobile operators, international cell phone manufacturers, cable/VOIP providers as well as providers of Visual Voicemail products and services for the enterprise market.

“33 companies worldwide have now signed patent license agreements with us under our Visual Voicemail patents. As the inventor of these patents and on behalf of our company, I just can’t allow unlicensed companies to use our IP,” said Judah Klausner, Klausner Technologies’ President. The suit has been filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas by the California law firm of Dovel & Luner.
