Mobispine AB (MOBS), an innovative Value Added Services (VAS) company and provider of mobile services for operators and handset manufacturers today announced a licensing agreement with Sony Ericsson to provide localized and categorized Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds to all handsets the company delivers worldwide. Mobispine will deliver local content to Sony Ericsson's pre-installed RSS reader with recommended RSS-feeds based on user interest and access to statistics.

While RSS has evolved in recent years Mobispine had lead the charge in addressing some of the continuing issues with RSS. For example, with some RSS aggregators the RSS client is often empty at startup with no way of discovering new content. Additionally, the feeds are sometimes difficult to access with no local content available in the client. All these issues add up to a situation where the technology is not user friendly for the average user. Mobispine continues to innovate in this area and is using its technological prowess to tackle and improve issues that other mobile aggregators continue to ignore.

"Mobispine is confident that Sony Ericsson's customers will find our service easy-to-use, informative and fun," said Dusyant Patel, CEO, Mobispine. "By partnering with a respected industry leader like Sony Ericsson we can offer its end-users speedy access to localized content and a superior multimedia experience. Moreover, the ongoing development and adoption of RSS feeds will further drive the growth of a new generation software-based mobility products such as messaging, client applications, and other rich multimedia features."

Mikael Nerde, Head of Application Acquisition at Sony Ericsson, added: "Mobispine continues to differentiate itself in a highly competitive market through its innovative technologies and by providing localized and easily categorized content. We believe our customers should find it a valuable and enjoyable option."

Mobispine aggregates the web content transmitted by RSS feeds offering users fast and cost effective access. The company leverages a feed-of-feed approach which is a designed feed comprised of other feeds. All feeds are local and of high quality and each time a user checks the feed it is updated with new and recommended feeds. Mobispine's approach provides users with the option to add the feed to their own RSS-reader and preview the latest articles before adding the feed.
