Net One Systems and Acme Packet partner to secure IP interactive communications in Japan

BURLINGTON, MA, JUNE 10, 2008 — Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Net One Systems Co, Ltd., a leading network and systems integrator based in Japan. Net One will offer Acme Packet’s entire Net-Net product family, which includes the full range of session border controllers (SBCs), multiservice security gateways (MSGs) and session router proxies (SRPs), to its large base of service provider and enterprise customers throughout Japan.

The flexibility and interoperability afforded by Acme Packet’s solutions make it ideally suited for Net One to offer a wide variety of IP network solutions to its diverse customer base. Acme Packet’s Net-Net systems enable the secure delivery of trusted, first-class interactive communications and data services across IP network borders for service provider and enterprise customers around the world. Acme Packet SBCs offer rich session border control functionality in terms of architectural flexibility, signaling protocol breadth, control function and feature depths and carrier-class availability and manageability. The SBCs also provide control in five key areas: security, service reach maximization, SLA assurance, revenue and cost optimization and regulatory compliance. The Acme Packet MSG securely wires subscribers to their mobile voice and data services over untrusted Internet and/or untrusted wireless networks. The MSGs authenticate endpoints, secure the voice and data traffic within IPsec tunnels to ensure privacy and protect against theft, and defend DoS/DDos attacks on the mobile service infrastructure at the TCP/IP and IPsec networking levels to deliver non-stop service. Acme Packet’s SRP routes SIP-based interactive communication sessions—voice, video, instant messaging and multimedia—within and between networks, thus simplifying core and inter-network session routing.
