Posted September 25, 2007

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 2007--The New York Times announced today new mobile offerings from its Real Estate section. Readers can now receive and send detailed property listings on their mobile devices, regardless of whether their property search began in print, online, or on The Times mobile real estate site (http://m.nytimes.com/re).

The new mobile product has three components:

Listings on Mobile Web site: Users can now instantly search over
350,000 property listings - by their New York Times listing ID or by
neighborhood, price or number of bedrooms - directly from their mobile
devices at http://m.nytimes.com/re. The Times Real Estate mobile site
now also features complete property information, rich graphics and
mobile-ready features, such as click-to-call.

Web to Mobile: Users can send property listings from NYTimes.com/RealEstate to their personal mobile devices or those of
their family and friends by clicking the new "Send to Mobile" icon on
the online listing details page.

Print to Web and Mobile: Users can send full details and photos of
properties they find listed in The Times newspaper to their mobile
devices using a text (SMS) code. Users can also search
NYTimes.com/RealEstate using the text (SMS) code from the newspaper.

This mobile platform also brings new advertising opportunities:
-- Classified advertisers who sign on for the print-to-mobile feature will receive a text code next to their listing in the newspaper, alerting users to text (SMS) the listing to their mobile device to view full details and photo.
-- New sponsorships are available for the mobile real estate
site.

Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager,
NYTimes.com said, "This new real estate offering is part of our larger
efforts to expand our mobile presence and bring our audience what
they're looking for on whatever platform they choose. Our new mobile
product provides our readers with seamless interaction between their phones and the national real estate market. This should quickly become one of our most popular mobile offerings."

Denise Warren, senior vice president and chief advertising officer, The New York Times Media Group said, "The Times Media Group is constantly looking for new ways to meet the needs of our advertisers, who we know are looking for targeted and creative solutions. These new mobile offerings give marketers the capability to reach our highly engaged audience across three unique platforms."

Later this fall, The Times will introduce real estate alerts for mobile users providing information and updates on properties based on users' individual criteria.

These features launched yesterday in beta with listings for Century 21 Laffey Associates, Citi Habitats, Corcoran, Halstead Property, Houlihan Lawrence and Prudential Douglas Elliman. For advertising opportunities contact: Andrew Wright, 212-556-1050; E-mail: wrighah@nytimes.com.

NYTimes.com continues to reach a large, educated and affluent
audience. It is the most visited newspaper site in the U.S. with an
audience of 13.1 million unique users (August 2007 -
Nielsen//NetRatings).
