South Texas ILEC to Begin Second Phase of Multi-Phase Project

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Occam Networks® Inc. (NASDAQ:OCNW), a leading
broadband access network supplier, announced today that Ganado Telephone
Company, headquartered in Ganado, Texas, has deployed Occam’s
Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) access equipment as part of a multi-phase
upgrade project.

In this phase, Ganado will shorten their copper network loops and deploy
Point-to-Point Ethernet Fiber to the Home (FTTH). This marks the second
phase of their access network evolution and enables Ganado to offer a
range of new, advanced broadband services.

“As a rural telecommunications service
provider, it was critical that our access equipment company supplied us
with both highly-reliable and easy to deploy products, as well as
support us with highly professional service,”
said Bill Rakowitz, general manager of Ganado Telephone. “Occam
succeeded on all counts. Occam’s blades were
easy to deploy, turned up very quickly and Occam’s
services team provided thorough, attentive and personalized service.”

Ganado serves both business and residential customers as the areas
Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC). Ganado is fully utilizing the
Multservice Access Platform (MSAP) features of Occam’s
BLC copper and fiber access products. To date, they have deployed
broadband services over Occam’s BLC 6252, BLC
6244 and BLC 6246 ADS2Plus and Lifeline POTS blades. Occam’s
BLC 6312 and ONT 2300 series Point-to-Point Ethernet products are used
to address FTTP applications.

Ganado deployed an Occam FTTH solution to provide telephone and
broadband data services to a very remote and isolated area that has
never before had reliable telephone service available to them. Until the
Occam deployment, even wireless telephone service was unreliable for
these residents.

“Our work with Ganado demonstrates that Occam
provides outstanding products and solutions to telecommunications
service providers in a manner that enables them to meet both traditional
and emerging service requirements with ease and efficiency,”
said Nathan Harrell, vice president of sales for Occam Networks. “Our
full featured BLC 6000 system is accelerating the evolution of access
networks with quality, easy to deploy products ensuring rapid 'time to
revenue' in highly competitive markets.”
