Ortiva Wireless Appoints Mobile Veteran William (Bill) Archer as SVP, Worldwide Sales
Worldwide Experience Will Help Drive Continued Growth with Carriers Improving Mobile Video Quality, Efficiency
LA JOLLA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ortiva Wireless, a pioneer in dynamic delivery of rich mobile content, today announced that William Archer has joined the company’s executive team as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Archer’s international experience with both new ventures and large multinational wireless players will enable him to manage and grow Ortiva’s global business with wireless operators, helping these companies to improve the quality and efficiency of their mobile video delivery. Prior to joining Ortiva, Archer served in senior sales and sales management roles at TTI Telecom, Cash-U Mobile Technologies, Viziqor, and Flash Networks.
Jim Edson, who previously lead both Sales and Business Development, will now focus exclusively on Business Development to drive partnerships and channel sales.
“We are very pleased that Bill has joined Ortiva and believe his extensive relationships in the industry with customers and partners will further enhance the Ortiva team,” said Marc Zionts, Chief Executive Officer. “Furthermore, now that Ortiva has started to work with partners around the globe, it is important to have a senior executive dedicated to establishing, managing, and growing these relationships. Jim Edson, as Senior Vice President, Business Development, is the ideal person to lead this effort.”
Before Ortiva, Archer managed business development and sales for Flash Networks, a well known global provider of Intelligent Mobile Internet solutions, and Cash-U (now Unipier), which was a leading and pioneering provider of software for mobile multimedia entertainment and information services. Archer’s recent challenges include more than a decade of work in Mobile Telephony around the globe in the field of Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Revenue Assurance.
“Given the explosion of smart phones, tablets, and wirelessly connected laptops, it’s clear that Mobile Video presents a tremendous revenue opportunity for the telecom industry. It is equally clear that managing the quality and efficiency of video delivery in a wireless network is especially challenging,” said Archer. “This is something that I’ve seen for myself with mobile operators all over the world, so I really understand the challenges that carriers are facing. Ortiva offers the industry’s only commercially proven solution that works seamlessly within an operator’s existing infrastructure. I’m extremely excited to be able to bring this solution to carriers.”
