Groove Mobile Launches On Top Selling Music Phones From World's Leading Handset Manufacturers

Groove Mobile's Expanded Music Platform Supports Latest Music Handsets From Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, HTC, Motorola and Nokia

BEDFORD, Mass., July 19 -– Groove Mobile, the world's leading mobile music service provider, announced today that it has significantly expanded its global mobile music handset platform with the addition of handsets manufactured by Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, HTC, Motorola and Nokia. With 36.5 million of Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones and 70 million of Nokia's music-capable phones sold last year, digital music player handsets are now more mainstream than Apple's 100 million iPods.

"Groove Mobile has been the key driver of mobile music from the beginning," said Adam Sexton, Chief Marketing Officer of Groove Mobile. "Our broad mobile music handset portfolio works across multiple carriers in multiple countries, enabling consumers around the world to buy the handset of their choice and get access to their favorite music."

Recently launched top selling handsets which support the Groove Mobile platform include:

* Samsung - Upstage (Sprint), M510 (Bell Mobility)
* Sony Ericsson W660i (3UK)
* LG - U970 (3UK), 570 MUSIQ (Sprint) , Chocolate (Bell)
* HTC 6800 "Mogul" (Sprint)
* Motorola - ic902 (Sprint)
* Nokia – 6120, 6151 (3UK)

According to technology research and consulting firm, Yankee Group, consumer demand for mobile music services has experienced an increase due in large part from the proliferation of music-capable handsets and availability of off-portal downloads. In the last year, the United States saw a more than three-fold increase in the number of mobile subscribers owning a music phone. By the end of 2007, they expect that number to reach nearly 100 million or 40 percent of all subscribers.

"More consumers are beginning to use mobile music capabilities now that they have access to the latest handsets with appropriate music players and memory," said Linda Barrabee, Yankee Group analyst." Since the launch of the iPhone, the profile for music phones in the U.S. has been raised substantially."

Groove Mobile's solutions are compatible with more than 100 mobile devices including eight of the top 10 selling music phones worldwide. Mobile music services from Groove Mobile are used by 16 carriers on three continents, featuring two million songs from all major record labels, independent artists and digital distributors. The Groove Mobile platform also supports the purchase of full tracks and music videos directly from artists or labels with innovative Over-the-Air download solutions.
