Record Attendance at OSP EXPO 2011
SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- OSP® magazine today announced record attendance at OSP EXPO 2011 which took place September 12 – 14 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH. Onsite attendance increased 31% over 2010; more than 70 telecom service providers were represented from all 50 states and more than 40 countries. “OSP has truly become a global brand attracting attendees from six of the seven continents,” said Mary Beth Koelling, VP Operations, Practical Communications, Inc., parent company of OSP magazine and OSP EXPO. “The diversity of attending companies has evolved as well drawing both large and small providers with significant presence at OSP EXPO, including AT&T, Verizon, Bell Canada, CenturyLink, Frontier Communications, Level 3, PAETEC, SaskTel, Windstream, and many smaller IOC’s.”
Preliminary survey results indicate that 80% of exhibitors were satisfied with the overall show experience and 91% of exhibitors rated the attendees to be of high quality. The sold out exhibition featured more than 200 telecom exhibitors showcasing network solutions and infrastructure trends from the CO to the STB. Other events taking place at OSP EXPO included: the Cincinnati Bell Managers Conference; AT&T OSP Cross Functional Sourcing Team (CFST); AT&T 22-State Electronic Cabinet Team; AT&T National Construction Team; Michael Golob, SVP Engineering and Technology, Frontier Communications Meet and Greet; North American Telecommunications Damage Prevention Council (NTDPC); Fiber Optics Association; Electronics Technicians Association International (ETA-I); and BICSI.
More than 30 educational programs and workshops were offered with the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. Seminars, workshops, and keynotes focused on the digital home, home automation, mobile backhaul, and more.
Keynote presentations by Michael Golob, SVP Engineering and Technology, Frontier Communications and Jeff Carr, Chief Technology Officer, Cincinnati Bell as well as the Thought Leaders Live Panel were well received. “The entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well at OSP EXPO this year. OSP EXPO 2012 will take place on November 14 – 15 at the Denver Convention Center in Denver, CO. CenturyLink’s Dr. Pieter Poll, Senior Vice President – National Network Planning, Engineering and Construction will be the featured 2012 opening keynote speaker.
