Base will see its subscriber market share increase over the next five years
- We expect that Base's subscriber market share will increase from 25.2% in 2009 to about 26% in 2014.
- On the other hand, we forecast that market shares at Proximus and Mobistar will be declining slightly over the next several years to reach approximately 42.1% and 28.7% respectively by the end of 2014.
ARPUs in Belgium to stabilize from 2010 to 2014
- We expect that the declining trend in ARPUs will stop in Belgium's wireless market. We forecast that the industry average monthly ARPU will remain in the range of 25 - 27 over the forecast period, 2009 - 2014.
- Among the three major operators, Proximus and Mobistar will continue to have significantly higher ARPUs than Base. Our model predicts that monthly ARPUs at Proximus, Mobistar and Base will be approximately 30, 27, and 16 in 2014.
Proximus will continue to have higher EBITDA margins than Mobistar and Base
- The largest operator, Proximus, will continue to enjoy a higher level of profitability than Mobistar and Base. We expect that its EBITDA margin (calculated as EBITDA/service revenue) will be stable at about 51% over the next five years.
