Research and Markets: Indonesia - Telecoms Market Trends & Forecasts
DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/6a133a/indonesia_teleco) has announced the addition of the "Indonesia - Telecoms Market Trends & Forecasts" report to their offering.
After a period of uncertainty, the Indonesian telecom sector appears to be settling into a healthy growth phase. The market will however, need to be supported by further government action on restructuring the industry. A stumbling start to building the country's fixed-line network has been followed by a solid fresh start, aided by the embracing of fixed-wireless technology, which has become the dominant component within that market segment. Meanwhile, a strong mobile market (around 150 million subscribers at a penetration of over 65% in early 2010) was still well short of saturation. This is even truer of Internet with only around 26 million users (around 11% of the population) by end-2009. At the same time there were an estimated 6.5 million Internet subscribers; dial-up services were still dominating, with broadband still in its infancy at less than one-fifth of the total Internet subscriber base. This report looks at the fixed-line, mobile and Internet segments of the market and provides scenario forecasts for 2015 and 2020 for each of these market segments.
