RI.gov Launches Free iPhone Application

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The official website of the state of Rhode Island (http://www.RI.gov) announced today the release of the free RI.gov iPhone application, available immediately through the iPhone App Store and iTunes.

The application allows users to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the iPhone and iPod Touch interface, making it even easier to conduct business with government.

Some features of the application include:

  • Tweets from state agencies and officials
  • Browse state government meetings
  • View the latest state government news
  • View photos in the RI.gov Flickr group
  • Browse RI.gov’s available online services

The RI.gov application provides a quick reference to state agencies, services, maps, and current news. The application also makes it easy to locate online government services through a simple search interface or through topical browsing. The RI.gov website has over one million visits each year and the new iPhone application will provide another gateway for citizens to interact with government.
