Samsung is Sued by Klausner Technologies for Visual Voicemail Patent Infringement
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Klausner Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has filed suit against Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd (KS:005930) for patent infringement under its U.S. Visual Voicemail patents.
The lawsuit is based on the sales in the United States of Samsung enterprise voicemail products such as Samsung OfficeServ SVMi-20E E-Message Delivery, Samsung OfficeServ IP-UMS E-Message Delivery, Samsung OfficeServ SVMi-20E MS Outlook Integration and Samsung OfficeServ IP-UMS MS Outlook Integration, all which allow users to selectively retrieve enterprise voicemail and which infringe Klausner Technologies' Visual Voicemail Patents.
Klausner Technologies currently has 33 Visual Voicemail patent licensees under its U.S., European, and Asian patents, including major U.S. and European mobile operators, international cell phone manufacturers, cable/VOIP providers as well as providers of Visual Voicemail products and services for the enterprise market. Avaya Inc. has recently signed a patent license under the Klausner Technologies’ Visual Voicemail patents for its own enterprise voicemail products.
“33 companies worldwide have now signed patent license agreements with us under our Visual Voicemail patents. As the inventor of these patents and on behalf of our company, I just can’t allow unlicensed companies to use our IP,” said Judah Klausner, Klausner Technologies’ President. The suit has been filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas by the California law firm of Dovel & Luner.
