Scottrade Launches Integrated Ad Campaign to Showcase New Online Trading Tools
Television and web ads and social media presence feature power, speed and ease of use of Scottrader® Streaming Quotes
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today Scottrade, leading online investing firm and top advertiser, launched a new integrated advertising campaign showcasing enhancements to its Scottrader® Streaming Quotes online trading tool, which offers self directed investors charts, quotes and live market news for monitoring their investments in real-time. The new ads feature a chameleon and a hot rod engine – as well as Scottrade’s trademark color purple – to illustrate the attributes of the Scottrader Streaming Quotes trading tool and the investors who use it.
The first ad, “Lightning Fast,” features a grayscale chameleon tracking a moth with its watchful 360-degree eyes, waiting for just the right moment to strike. Its purple tongue snaps up the moth with precision. A second ad, “Full Throttle,” features a hot rod engine revving up to reveal purple flames and smoke.
“A chameleon changes with ease, adjusting fluidly to its surroundings and reacting to opportunity with speed, while an engine supplies the power to move forward,” said Kim Wells, chief marketing officer at Scottrade. “These images bring Scottrader Streaming Quotes to life, illustrating how it helps provide self-directed investors with what they need to effectively survey the market landscape and quickly seize opportunities.”
Scottrader Streaming Quotes' customizable interface is designed to give investors a 360-degree view of the market, with the information that's important to them. Real-time tools integrate seamlessly together to give a complete picture of investments and watch lists. In addition to streaming quotes, real-time news, quick trades, and a live streaming ticker, investors using Scottrader Streaming Quotes can:
- Chart using sophisticated tools. Scottrader Streaming Quotes offers 21 different technical indicators, with the ability to choose up to six indicators at a time to create a custom chart and draw trend lines to track the market response in real-time.
- Link multiple windows together. Using the Linker feature, investors can connect two or more windows so that the symbol entered in one window will display in all linked windows simultaneously.
- Customize their Quote Grid window. Investors can customize their default settings and layout display information in a way that makes the most sense for them.
- Import watch lists from other Scottrade platforms. Investors can easily import lists from the Scottrade Trading Website and upgrade watch lists from 20 to 40 symbols each.
- Toggle between accounts. Investors with multiple Scottrade accounts can navigate to a different brokerage account from any account management or trading window with a click of the mouse.
“We’re always working to give the self-directed investor innovative tools to help them make better trading decisions,” said Scottrade’s Founder and CEO Rodger Riney. “With the launch of this campaign, we’re now running three ad concepts simultaneously, which we’ve never done before. But we think it’s important that investors know the advantages that the Scottrader Streaming Quotes trading tool has to offer.”
The new ads join two other active campaigns “Welcome to Scottrade,” in which Scottrade is portrayed as a community where the residents are knowledgeable and engaged investors who enjoy strategizing, trading and learning more about investing, and “Don’t Go,” which features the entertaining poor-customer-service antics of Chad Ridgeway. The Chad Ridgeway character also has a Facebook page, YouTube page and Twitter account.
The new Scottrader Streaming Quotes “Lightning Fast” and “Full Throttle” television spots were created by St. Louis-based Rodgers Townsend and will air nationally on business and investing focused cable networks along with online versions of the ads, which will appear on top sites such as Yahoo! Finance, MSN Money, The Street and AOL Money starting this week.
“This product-specific campaign complements our current branding campaigns,” Wells said. “Scottrade is all about providing the value, support and tools to empower self-directed investors to help them make better trading decisions, and this campaign shows customers exactly how we are able to deliver on that promise.”
The television ads and the behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot are available online at www.youtube.com/Scottradeinc. In addition to the broadcast and online ads, Scottrade is promoting the Scottrader Streaming Quotes tool on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Scottrade with an interactive Trading Tools tab. The company is also sharing the new ads with its followers of @Scottrade on Twitter using the hashtag #Scottrader, and encouraging feedback, comments and questions from self-directed investors.
