Sorrento Networks to Attend WDM and Next Generation Optical Networking Conference in Monaco Next Week
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sorrento Networks will attend the WDM and Next Generation Optical Networking Conference being held next week in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The company will showcase its GigaMux 3200 and GigaEdge 232 in booth #16.
The WDM and Next Generation Optical Networking Conference is Europe’s primary optical networking event that will explore industry developments, such as 40G/100G trials, next generation network automation and optical transport network (OTN) deployments. With a growing list of European-based customers, including Neos Networks and Azzurri Communications, Sorrento continues to expand its presence by delivering Gigabit Ethernet and storage area networks (SAN) solutions to carriers and enterprise customers throughout Europe.
“The WDM optical market continues to grow due to the increased need for high bandwidth services,” said Jim Nevelle, CEO of Sorrento Networks. “Telecom customers want to see what solutions are available to them. Whether it’s a simple value proposition, a solid platform with a very reliable history, or a WDM platform that has all the necessary interfaces — Sorrento’s products scale to meet the requirements of each individual customer.”
Sorrento’s GigaMux WDM platforms enable enterprise and service provider customers to deliver optical wavelength services that require a significantly reduced capital outlay and fewer management requirements than other optical networking products. A protocol-independent design allows Sorrento’s GigaMux platform to transport and extend the traffic of SONET/SDH, layer 2/3 Ethernet, and SANs simultaneously and in their native format. This unmatched level of flexibility and control allows customers to add or upgrade bandwidth incrementally and on demand based on traffic requirements.
