HO CHI MINH, Vietnam, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today the commercial launch of business in Vietnam. This follows the announcement in November 2006, when AT&T extended the global reach of its business to Vietnam through collaboration with one of the country's leading telecommunications carriers, Viettel Corp.

In addition to the existing office in Hanoi, AT&T plans to set up another representative office in Ho Chi Minh by the end of the year to capitalize on the business opportunities of the rapidly growing telecommunications market in Vietnam.

"We are very excited about today's announcement, which marks a major milestone for our business in Vietnam," said Hiko Minato, the newly appointed vice president of AT&T Asia Pacific. "Vietnam is the fastest-growing market in Southeast Asia, and demand is increasing rapidly from global enterprises for world-class networking solutions to support their business operations in Vietnam. The collaboration of AT&T and Viettel pairs AT&T's global operations strength with Viettel's Vietnam service provider strength to seamlessly connect AT&T global customers with their offices in Vietnam. Customers will experience a consistent set of reliable, high-quality services wherever they do business."

Under the agreement between AT&T and Viettel, initial services available to multinational customers include Virtual Private Network and Frame Relay services. There are plans to add more services in the future.

In late September 2007, Raymond Ng was appointed as the country manager of AT&T Vietnam to manage AT&T's operations and drive the growth of the company's business in Vietnam.

"AT&T is the world's largest communications company, with a comprehensive range of innovative telecommunications services," Ng said. "More important, AT&T has the experience and expertise to serve our global multinational customers' needs anywhere their business takes them. We plan to strengthen our capabilities in Vietnam and to introduce an even broader range of advanced networking services and solutions with Viettel in the near future."
