Telekenex Selects Level 3 for Gigabit Ethernet Services

08/19/2009--Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) today announced that it is expanding its relationship with Telekenex, a San Francisco-based provider of a variety of managed Internet protocol (IP)-based voice and data communications services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Level 3 will augment the services it already delivers to Telekenex to include private line and Ethernet-based high-speed Internet services. Level 3's connections enable Telekenex to connect all of its locations via a private high-speed network, and also allow the company to deliver to its customers network connectivity up to 10 Gigabits per second -- enough capacity to transport 128 simultaneous high-definition video downloads per second -- supported by Level 3 service level agreements.
