The event will promote responsible eCycling of mobile phones held from Monday, May 16, 2011 through Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The winner will be notified and announced at Colonial Country Club on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

Consumers are invited to bring all retired and unwanted mobile phones, mobile electronics and accessories for eCycling at one of the Teletouch-Hawk Electronics reDIAL™ drop-boxes located at the Colonial Country Club during the 2011 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial PGA TOUR Golf Tournament. The person donating the oldest mobile phone will win two (2) BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphones, donated by Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM), who has teamed with Teletouch again this year to support the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial PGA TOUR Golf Tournament.

According the U.S. EPA, more than 100 million cellphones are tossed into landfills nationwide each year. Recycling these wireless handsets would save enough energy to power some 18,500 U.S. homes each year.
