UTStarcom Unveils New Wireless USB Modem With Flash Memory
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UTStarcom Personal Communications, a division of UTStarcom, Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), announced today the launch of its first wireless broadband USB modem, UM150, to CDMA carriers in North America.

Tiny, but delivering tremendous mobile connectivity, the UM150 weighs only 1.57 ounces and measures 3.61" (h) x 1.46" (w) x 0.65. Downloading and uploading files (Forward/Reverse Link) is fast with the UM150 since it can download at rates up to 3.1 Mbps and upload as fast as 1.8 Mbps. In addition, the UM150 has the ability to run on multiple bands including CDMA 1x EVDO Rev. A & Rev. O, CDMA 1xRTT and CDMA 800, 1900 MHz.
The innovative UM150 also works as a flash memory drive with a memory capacity of 64 MB (Flash)/32 MB (RAM) expandable to up to 2GB or more (dependent on market availability) since it has a built-in micro-SD card slot so users are now able to carry their files with them without their laptop.

The high-speed USB 2.0 UM150 is compatible with PCs that run Windows(R) 2000, XP or Vista and Macs the run Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher. Additional system requirements to run the UM150 are a 166MHz or greater processor, 14 MB or more of hard disk space and at least 32 MB RAM. The sleek-looking modem also has a built-in retractable antenna with dual LED lights that indicate signal strength.
The UM150 will be available before the end of the year through various CDMA carriers in North America.
