Sprint announced that it would release a software update for its HTC Mogul handset that would allow the phone to connect to its EV-DO rev. A network. The HTC Mogul [1] is the first handset to connect to the data network, which has been restricted to data cards for laptops up until this point. Verizon Wireless also has an EV-DO rev. A network, but to date it has only been used for laptop data cards, too.
Sprint said the Rev. A network provides download speeds between 600 kbps and 1,400 kbps and upload speeds between 350 kbps and 500 kbps.
